Five years ago, amidst the stillness of a global lockdown, a moment of clarity emerged. On April 21, 2020, during an early morning walk along the Thames river in London, Fernando Cabral experienced a profound realisation: the time to act was now. Inspired by the vision to empower African innovators and build the future of Africa, he had an epiphany moment and envisioned what would become Djassi Africa.
This wasn't just a vision - it was an urgent call to action. Leveraging our existing resources, we recognised that we had the tools, network, and passion to make a difference immediately. Africa couldn't wait, and neither could we.
That same morning, Fernando reached out to his brother Rudolphe. Their early morning conversations, often filled with creativity and purpose, led to the beautiful birth of Djassi Africa. As Rudolphe recalls, "Djassi Africa was born from a place of inspiration and purpose."
To everyone who's been part of this journey - founders, partners, allies, and believers - thank you! Your support has been instrumental in turning a moment of clarity into a movement of impact and legacy.
This is just the beginning.
Fernando & Rudolphe
